Valese is the last remaining foundry in Venice. Now managed by Carlo Semenzato, it continues the traditional manufacturing process for objects in brass and bronze: incandescent molten metal is poured into moulds using the sand casting method. In the Valese shop located near Saint Mark’s Square you can find classic Venetian objects: 60 different models of the Horses of Saint Mark, several moretti (Moors) and the symbol of the city, Saint Mark’s lion. Valese also produces ornaments for gondolas, as well as complex objects such as chandeliers. For an exclusive touch for your home, there are doorknockers, doorknobs and handles that can be made to order.
